All about the Yellow Slip
What is the Yellow Slip?
A permanent registration certificate for EU citizens, equivalent to the residence permit under EU law.
Must be applied for within three months of moving using the MEU1 form at the “Aliens Immigration Unit”.
Contains your personal ARC number, which you need for numerous formalities (tax number T.I.C., non-dom status, health insurance, company formation, etc.).
Why “Yellow Slip”?
The name is derived from the yellow color of the paper.
Photo is printed directly at the appointment – in many districts (e.g., Limassol) you receive the finished document by mail within 1-2 weeks.
What the Yellow Slip is not
Not a prerequisite for renting an apartment or establishing a Cyprus Limited (the reverse applies: no Yellow Slip without proof of residence).
Beware of paid portals that sell faster appointments or unnecessary memberships for a fee.
