How we create and review our content. Especially on topics touching money, residency or health (YMYL), we take diligence seriously.

Research & sources

Every verifiable claim is sourced, preferably from primary sources (legislation, official authorities such as the Cyprus Tax Department, the migration authority, the Registrar of Companies). We list sources at the end of each article.

Diligence on sensitive topics (YMYL)

On topics around taxes, visa/residency, law, finance and health we work with particular care: we rely on primary sources and bring in qualified people (e.g. tax advisors or lawyers) where it is useful and feasible. We do not, however, run a mandatory case-by-case expert review of every article. Our content is general, carefully researched information, not individual legal, tax or other professional advice.

Not emigration, tax or legal advice

Cyprus Expats is an information and community offering, not an advisory service. We do not provide relocation/emigration consulting, nor tax, legal, financial, insurance, investment, residency or real-estate advice in any regulated sense. Our articles, community contributions and chatbot answers offer general orientation based on our own experience and publicly available information. They do not replace individual advice tailored to your situation by qualified professionals. Decisions about relocating, taxes, residency, investments or contracts are yours to make; for binding guidance please consult a licensed tax advisor, lawyer or the competent authority. We accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of our content.

Currency & corrections

Every article shows a visible publication or update date. When the legal situation changes, we update the piece. We correct mistakes transparently. Pointers are always welcome via the contact page.

AI assistance, human responsibility

We use AI tools to support research and drafting. Every publication, however, is fact-checked by humans, enriched with on-the-ground experience and editorially owned. We do not use tools designed to evade AI detection.
